Let's Round up the Week
A very happy Friday to all of you - I hope you’ve got fun plans for the weekend.
My girls are thrilled that spring break starts in just under an hour and I am too. We don’t normally travel for spring break, with my parents coming to see us. For the last several years my mom and I have used this week to plan, buy, and plant all my flowers for the year. It’s a core memory in real time for me and we really have so much fun doing it.
Last year’s color combo was really fun, but I’m feeling lots of white and blue ahead…

These should really take root and be off to the races by the time Easter rolls around (so late this year) and I’m wrapping up my planning/purchasing for everything but the Easter ham. We typically get the girls a new pool float, a swimsuit, and a few outdoor things, nothing too crazy. I’m pretty excited about this year’s pool float, the golf cart!
Among other spring things, I’ve been refreshing our sunscreen stash. Ryan tells me he thinks expiration dates on sunscreen are a farce, but we all know he’s wrong. My favorite sunscreens (for myself) are all listed here . The girls will often use my favorite AHC sunscreen stick if they have on a rash guard and need quick facial coverage, but they mostly use these.
I’m very inflexible about sunscreen and the girls are really good about just putting it on and not complaining, so points to them for that. Then we go down the road of washing hair post swim and it’s another story, but I digress. All the things I like for their, shall we say, pool experience (including sunscreen and post swim hair care) are linked here.

I started teaching Isabel how to play mahjong this week and was really impressed with how well she picked up such a complicated game. I don’t think we (me) are giving kids enough credit sometimes.
She loves it and beat me yesterday, causing literal tears of joy? I’ll take it.
I waited a long time to find a set of tiles I absolutely loved since they’re so pricey and when this set up from Oh My Mahjong went on nearly 50% sale, I snapped it up with no regrets.

Speaking of no regrets, I gave our pantry a much needed paint job over the weekend and love what a little jewel box it is, right off our mostly white kitchen. When we moved in, the pantry was half painted white and half left natural wood. I used some peel and stick wallpaper as a band aid, but after nearly four years here, I felt it deserved a full coat of paint.
The color is Behr Inked.

I picked up two new (to me) non-alcoholic wines at Trader Joe’s yesterday and will report back. I haven’t tried a NA wine in a while (they’re mostly awful) but I’ve seen the Geisen in particular get great reviews. I definitely miss a crispy Sauvignon Blanc so would love to scratch that itch in a NA way!
Have a great weekend - I’ll see you all on Insta.
