Midweek Miscellany
I’ve got a little one home with a fever and cough for the second day, so I’m taking advantage of a day at home to jot down a few random notes.
I may never use a tampon again after discovering these flex discs. Don’t be intimidated, they are real game changers.
We put our snack cart out for the delivery drivers last week. I consider this part of our holiday giving/kindness towards other and I can’t tell you how many drivers stop to thank us on the Ring camera or pause and take pictures to send their friends and family. I have found the most popular items over the years to be little bottles of Gatorade, mini Pringles tubes, and peanut butter/cheese crackers.
I’ve finally found some motivation to start working on the endless list of little detail projects I keep for around the house. This week was putting new dummy knobs on Isabel’s closet doors and then using Rub N Buff to match the hinges. I can’t get over what a big difference these little changes make. How have I not paid closer attention to hinges all these years?
My Christmas decor strategy as I’ve refined it over the years so as not to feel overwhelmed. I spend the week after Halloween picking up and putting away all our spooky, autumnal decor. The next week I pick away at a nice, deep clean before all the decor goes up again. The 2 weeks (ish) following that, I’ll get out the Christmas decor bit by bit. I finish right before our Thanksgiving travel and come home to a fully decorated home that we get to enjoy for a solid month. This gets it all done but I never feel overwhelmed or like I lost full days to decorating.
Jeans! Jeans are so so tough and I’ve been really needing a new pair but am completely uninterested in ordering several sizes from several brands to try on and return. A friend I play majh with recommended Nordstrom Rack and I can ‘t believe I forgot to check here. SO many brands organized by size and I walked out with two pair in under 20 minutes and under $100. These are a new fave.
That’s it for me - here’s to being on the downhill of this week!
