Happy October and welcome to my favorite month of the year! It begins today with our engagement anniversary which I shared all about in my instagram stories this morning - it’s really cute if I do say so. Ryan has shown me truly unconditional love during our life together and I appreciate that more this year than I have before.
It’s also my opinion that October is the starting gun, so to speak, of the festive season. We always travel over Thanksgiving, then Olivia’s birthday, Christmas, and Isabel’s birthday follow in rapid succession, so October is also the month I get my ducks in a row and do some serious preparation, otherwise I’m frantic until the new year and I really don’t care for that version of myself. One of the ways I prep is to start getting stocking stuffers early - you can see what I’m eyeing here.
My birthday is on Sunday and I pre-emptively gifted myself with this beautiful new burlwood coffee table to celebrate 37 years (and no longer having tiny kids that prohibit tables with corners). I’ll be refreshing that UPS tracking compulsively.
I had a dinner party last year for my birthday but this year I’m really feeling like a Sunday lunch at my favorite restaurant followed by a restful day of football with my family is exactly what would make for the perfect day. That and not doing any laundry.
We’ve got one out of two Halloween costumes sorted out and Isabel is the cutest Target basket I’ve ever seen. Olivia will likely be indecisive until the last moment and nobody will be more stressed about it than me. Why? Great question.
Until next time!
